New Brush Grid

In this project I have experimented with Photoshop’s paintbrush tool. I created a grid in which to play with the different possibilities and cycled through the different brushes changing the flow rate and hardness as I went. I also tried moving the mouse at different speeds and angles to give different effects.

Next I played with different colours and opacities over the top of brush1.

I then decided that I wanted to use layers and the different brush techniques that I’ve just been playing with to create a simple drawing with a seaside theme. Each layer has a white background because when they are saved separately as jpgs the transparent sections are turned to white. The layers below are in order from foreground to background.

Layer 1 – Cloudsbrush3cloudsI have given the clouds a grey background so that they are visible

Layer2 – Beachbrush3sand

Layer3 – Seabrush3sea

Layer4 – Skybrush3sky

Hand Trace

The first image is a scan of my hand that I am going to trace by drawing onto a layer that has been placed on top of it.

The second image shows the scan of my hand with the traced drawing on top.

The final image shows the trace that I made from the scan of my hand
